Web Order
Web Order

Web Order enables your own staff and
existing customers to securely enter orders over the Internet,
directly into the Microsoft Business Solutions Supply Chain
Management–Order Management system. In addition, customers can
use Web Order to check the status of those orders any time, day
or night, and inquire into current inventory availability and
pricing.
The Internet is changing the way that business is conducted.
Your customers and employees need the flexibility to access key
enterprise information any time of the day and to be able to act
on that information from the convenience of the closest Web
browser.
Web Order provides around-the-clock and around-the-world access
for your customers. With Web Order, they can place orders at
their convenience, get immediate answers to questions about the
status of previously placed orders, or instantly check on
inventory availability and pricing.
When your staff is away from the office, they can enter customer
orders directly into Web Order, eliminating the need to call or
fax in orders from the field. They can also pre-scan the status
of existing orders before they contact the client, and be more
knowledgeable about the clients overall experience with your
business.
When your remote staff or customers use Web Order to enter
orders or inquire into previous orders or inventory availability
and pricing, it eliminates the need for expensive support staff
to answer those questions by phone or fax. The accuracy and
efficiency of the ordering process is increased, due to the
elimination of double entry from phoned, faxed or mailed orders.
Web Order is built for the same platform as Microsoft Supply
Chain Management. Both use Microsoft NT and the same Microsoft
SQL Server 7.0 database. Web Order is built upon the Microsoft
Internet Information Server and Microsoft Site Server, Commerce
Edition foundation, providing scalable, efficient, and
expandable e-commerce solutions for all types of businesses.
Inventory Inquiry
The Inventory Inquiry page shows the first 20 records of the
total number of inventory items selected by an inquiry. For each
item, Web Order shows the part number, description, customer
part number, item availability, and unit pricing.
You can view all of the selected inventory items as a series of
pages, with each page detailing 20 of the selected inventory
items. By clicking on the page numbers at the top of the page,
you can quickly jump between individual pages of results.
Item pricing is shown for a single item. If special customer or
volume pricing is available for the item, then the item price
will be adjusted automatically.
Order Status Inquiry
You can search the Supply Chain Management order files by the
order number, purchase order number, order date, or a specific
part number. The Web Order system searches the Microsoft Supply
Chain Management order database to locate the specific order you
want to see.
For each order, Web Order shows order, item, and item shipment
information. Each order can contain multiple items, and each
item can require one or more shipments to be fully fulfilled to
your customer.
Order Entry
Web Order provides order item entry to your customers who need
assistance finding the exact items they want to order through
the Inventory Inquiry page. Web Order also accommodates
knowledgeable customers who already know what they want to order
and who want to place their order with maximum efficiency in a
minimum of keystrokes using the direct entry method in the Order
Entry page. In this manner, Web Order meets the needs of the
power-business customer and the occasional-business customer as
well.
Web Order delivers these
additional features:
Ability to create sales orders directly
into Supply Chain
Management Order Management, using the
exact same policies and procedures used within Microsoft Supply
Chain Management software.
Inquiry into inventory availability and
pricing by inventory part number, description, and
cross-referenced customer part number.
Ability to check on the status of
previously entered sales orders, by customer purchase order
number, order number, order date, or inventory items contained
in the sales order.
Automatic calculation of individual item
pricing and combined order pricing, taking into account specific
customer pricing instructions within the Microsoft Supply Chain
Management system.
Integrated calculation of shipping and
freight charge for a sales order, along with any local, state,
or federal sales taxes.
