Advanced Shipment Management
Advanced Shipment Management

Advanced Shipment Management allows you to
be able to build shipment detail, automatically create shipping
labels, charge shipments, create a bill of lading and provide
customers with shipment tracking information. What does that
mean to you?
The demands placed upon companies to provide the information
required to produce an advance ship notice document are
typically not provided for in their current information system.
For distributors that ship a variety of products or components,
this can create an enormous amount of work. More and more
trading partners want to be able to simply scan bar codes to
find out what products are in each box, which boxes are on what
pallet, what pallets are being shipped by which carrier, the
shipment size and weight, and so on.
Imagine being able to automatically build shipment detail
information and print it on UCC-128 compliance labels — at the
same time you're creating and printing the pick ticket for an
order. And, with the same integrated system, create bills of
lading and track shipments via the World Wide Web.
Now, with Advanced Shipment Management, you can do all of this.
This optional module adds precise and efficient shipment
functionality to Order Management and e-Commerce Gateway–EDI
Edition so you can easily meet your customers' demands.
Advanced Shipment Management is a powerful module that works
with Order Management and e-Commerce Gateway–EDI Edition to
build shipment detail information for sales orders.
This is what Advanced Shipment
Management can do for you.
Automatically Build Shipment Detail
Advanced Shipment Management is designed specifically to give
you the fastest, easiest, and most flexible way to build
detailed shipment information. With Order Management and
e-Commerce Gateway–EDI Edition installed, you can simply
activate Advanced Shipment Management to choose your set up
options which include: calculate weight and dimensions, build
containers at pick ticket creation time, allow standard carton
breaks, have single container shipments, auto generate labels
and print labels at pick ticket release.
With all options selected, Advanced Shipment Management
automatically does the work for you in creating pick tickets. It
can build shipment detail for standard-carton and pick-and-pack
shipments and create and print labels as well.
Flexibility to Change or Build Shipment Detail
The Container Builder screen gives you full flexibility to
change your shipment or, if setup container options are not
activated, to build shipment detail yourself.
You may also use the Container Builder screen to build pallets
and assign tare levels. Building a pallet is as easy as opening
the Container Builder screen and scanning bar codes from each of
the boxes for that pallet. You can review your pallet hierarchy
on the Ticket Map and print a pallet label.
After a shipment is built and the pick ticket is confirmed, you
can easily create a bill of lading by selecting from a variety
of specifications provided on the Bill of Lading screen.
To quickly check the status of shipments that have gone out, you
can use the Container Tracking Inquiry screen to search on
shipment PRO numbers, serial container IDs or tracking numbers.
From this screen, you drill down to shipment detail on the bill
of lading or go to the Shipper, where you can launch a Web
browser to access your carrier's online tracking system.
Advanced Shipment Management Features:
Place contents of an entire pick ticket in
one shipping container which can be set to build automatically
during pick ticket creation
Divide standard-carton quantities that
were pre-built during pick ticket creation
Build container detail information for
individual pick tickets line by line
Calculate shipment weight and dimensions
by package or by shipment based on inventory master data
Automatically generate and print UCC-128
compliance shipping labels at pick ticket release time
Enter individual bill of lading classes
per item. All items on a bill of lading are summarized by class.
You can indicate if a particular class is a hazardous material
and enter mixed classes within containers for bills of lading
Create and print bills of lading for
single or consolidated bills
Search for shipments and/or pick tickets
by PRO number, serial container ID, or tracking number by simply
clicking a button
Track shipments instantly via the World
Wide Web for carriers such as UPS, Federal Express, Airborne,
and Viking.
