Order Management

Order Management, the core module of
Microsoft Business Solutions Supply Chain Management–Solomon
provides a comprehensive solution for a range of industries,
such as distribution, service and manufacturing.
Imagine being able to service your customers so efficiently that
they're not only satisfied, they're downright impressed. And
imagine keeping order management employees on task and on top of
the entire sales order process, under any circumstances. Order
Management can help you achieve this level of service and
productivity—now and as your business grows.
This hard-working solution is tightly integrated with the
Financial Series, for single-point data entry. Used with the
Inventory and Purchasing modules, it provides a solid foundation
for managing orders efficiently, while minimizing cost per
transaction.
Workflow Management
Controlling and automating workflow procedures can boost order
management productivity and improve customer service. That's why
Order Management is workflow-centric, giving you precise control
over the flow of order information. You can eliminate
unnecessary steps in the order process, require critical steps
for the process to continue, and automate routine steps, such as
picking/packing slip generation. Workflow procedures are
determined by order type in Solomon, and Order Management
accommodates a variety of pre-defined and configurable order
types.
Flexible Scheduling
Order Management lets you place large orders to get the best
unit price, yet have goods shipped in small increments for
production lines. With unlimited shipping dates per line item,
you can easily schedule 1,000 units to be sent in 10 shipments
of 100 units. Its more efficient than entering each increment as
separate line item, and less time-consuming and error-prone than
calculating price breaks or making changes manually.
One "Desktop" for All
We've created a single Sales Orders screen that acts as a
working desktop for everyone in the sales process, for
everything from quotes to invoicing. Information is laid out
logically, for efficiency and ease of use. From this screen, you
can simply click to move through areas of customer order
information or to launch other functions.
Fast, Accurate Order Entry and Item Lookup
Being able to enter orders and look up information quickly and
accurately can boost staff productivity and lower your cost per
transaction. We've fine-tuned our Sales Orders screen so that
its possible to enter simple orders with only three pieces of
information: customer ID, inventory ID, and quantity. We've also
provided a number of easy ways to quickly look up information
and keep the order process moving.
Credit Risk Monitoring
To help you manage credit risk information more easily, Order
Management automatically applies your credit rules to orders, to
determine whether or not they should be accepted or shipped.
Order Management constantly monitors customer credit, and then
automatically contacts the credit manager when an order violates
policy.
Order Management delivers these
features:
17 pre-defined order types: advanced sales
order, blanket order, credit memo, counter sale, debit memo,
invoice, kit assembly, quote, return for repair, return for
credit, return for replacement, RMA return shipment, non-order
